In the latest email from Susila Dharma USA, who’s pictured but none other than Subud Portland’s own Leonard Dixon, the Lane Technical High School (Chicago) graduate who is noted for his humanitarian work. They write:
Leonard Dixon, was walking on the street in downtown Portland, Oregon in 2013 when he saw people trying to sleep outside on the sidewalks in sub-freezing weather with no shelter. He started purchasing and passing out vital supplies—food, sleeping bags, blankets, tarps, etc. He has continued this work to this day. Leonard sees a connection between the latihan and his humanitarian work. “Doing the latihan can strip away excess ‘junk’ from one’s being, and also broaden one’s sense of awareness, so that feelings of compassion can develop.” Read more…
