Sisters and Brothers,
Just a quick note to advise of your SPNW Dewan’s recent activities. We’re currently spending significant time considering the Menucha retreat center’s proposal for a 2023 November kedjiwaan retreat. This pulled the rug from under us, as it requires a fair number of changes, some minor, but several that are likely insurmountable for us. We’re carefully deliberating our options, including trying to locate an alternate venue (likely to be very difficult this late in the game, but more-doable for 2024) and countering Menucha’s proposal with one that could meet their and our needs. We will keep you informed.
About ½ of the people, who attended the Fall kedjiwaan retreat at Menucha, filled out a survey asking about their experience and ideas for the future. A vast majority said that the Fall kedjiwaan event is essential for SPNW, and that their individual experience was amazing, remarkable, deeply-fulfilling, etc. We also covered our expenses. So for all of these reasons this year’s retreat was a resounding success. Especially So your Dewan is working, and will work, hard to keep these type of events happening, regardless of where they’re held. We’re also mindful of the needs of those of you who have young children, and have on our plate to create opportunities for you.
On behalf of the SPNW Dewan, may your holidays be filled with love and joy.
Your Chair,
Latham
