Sisters and Brothers,
Your regional Committee and Board have been busy. Committee members join the regional helpers for a dewan meeting once a month. The Committee and full Board each meets monthly, although the Committee’s meeting schedule is more fluid. Honora and Latham also meet every week or two. Due to being a regional Chair, Latham also is on the Board of Subud USA. A subcommittee has also been meeting biweekly to plan for this Fall’s kedjiwaan retreat (thank you Oswald and Halima Taylor). Everyone included on these groups is busy, we request your patience with us for the times we drop the ball, or are slow in responding.
The Board’s monthly meetings are packed with the business of running the region, including financial management, taxes, insurance, helpers, treasurer, and center reports, and considering the state of members, centers, and the region.
The Committee regularly discusses the needs of members and how we can best meet those. We still have the biweekly social Zooms set-up (2nd Saturday and 4th Sunday, 12:30-2:00), and encourage you to “come by” and connect with your brothers and sisters. We’re hoping to get these newsletter mailings to you more regularly, please send any news/announcements to us for inclusion.
The Committee is about to begin planning the looong, difficult outer work necessary to responsibly support the members of Bellingham Skagit Valley in the process that eventually and mindfully will result in the sale of the Subud house there.
